Stamp Duty

The current rates can be provided on our Stamp Duty Land Tax (SDLT) calculator page found here.

The new rates only apply to the amount of the purchase price that falls within the particular duty band, whereas with the previous system you would be paying successively higher rates on the entire purchase price, which in most cases is less favourable.

If you are purchasing your first home, you get a stamp duty relief for any purchase under £300,000 which means there is no SDLT to pay. Our calculator will take this into account and automatically give you the relevant figure.

If you are a second home owner/ investor, there will be an addition surcharge for SDLT to pay. Our calculator will take this into account and automatically give you the relevant figure.
